If you were lucky enough to get some Le Creuset cookware as a family heirloom, or maybe it’s been a while since you bought your Le Creuset pieces and you forgot, I’m going to show you how to “crack the code” and figure out what size your LeCreuset cookware really is.
How To Find Out What Size Your Le Creuset Cookware Is
Ok. To find out what size your cookware is, you’re going to have to look at the bottom of your Le Ceuset pot. For some of you, we know this going to be an embarrassing and traumatic experience. It’s ok if the bottom of your pot is a little dirty. I understand. I’ve been there. Here’s the thing: if the legendary chef Jacques Pépin can have pans that aren’t immaculate, so can you (whistles and looks in the general direction of my friend Debra).
Once you’ve got your pan flipped over, look for a number in the middle of the pan. That number tells you the inside diameter of the pan in centimeters (see example below):

If you’ve got a 13.25 quart Le Creuset pan and can move it around enough to cook things in it without a small crane, my hat’s off to you.

Here’s an interesting fact. The Le Creuset 15 quart oval oven is also known as a Goose pot. You don’t have to use it for Goose, though. I haven’t tried it, but I’ve heard it works really well for chicken or turkey. That bad boy weighs in at 25 lbs, too, so you probably won’t need to work off all that Thanksgiving turkey after moving the pot around all day.

If you’re looking at saucepans, the two in one saucepan is a nice investment. It gives you a 2.5 quart saucepan and an 8″ fry pan that doubles as a lid.
